ART SERVICE - HOW IT WORKS

 

Commissioned art, fabric, and wallpaper created exclusively for your space

If you are looking for artwork, fabric, or wallpaper that feels completely personal and something no one else has, Tarn works privately with clients to create bespoke pieces designed specifically for their home or project.

Each project begins with conversation and evolves into original artworks and custom designs created exclusively for the client.

 

THE PROCESS

1. Initial Conversation

Every project begins with a discussion about your space, your aesthetic sensibility, and what you’re looking for.

This may include:

• Artwork for a specific room
• Custom wallpaper or fabric
• Complete art-led direction for an interior

The goal is simple: to understand the atmosphere and identity you want the space to hold. 

2. Concept & Artwork Development

Tarn develops sketches, paintings, and visual concepts based on the conversation.

These may include:

• Original artworks
• Colour studies
• Custom fabric or wallpaper concepts

This stage allows the client to see how the idea begins to take form. 

3. Design Creation

Once the concept is approved, Tarn develops the final artwork or design. Depending on the project this may include:

• Finished painting
• Custom wallpaper design
• Bespoke fabric design
• Samples or strike-offs for approval

4. Production & Delivery

Whether your commission includes original artwork, bespoke wallpaper, custom fabric, or a combination of these, every piece is produced to the highest standard before being carefully prepared for delivery or installation.

The remaining balance of the design fee is invoiced prior to delivery of the completed creative work.

Production costs - including printing, materials, manufacturing, freight and installation (where applicable) are quoted separately and invoiced before production commences.

Each commission is created exclusively for the client and is never released as part of the Ocre collection.

 

Investment

Art and Design commissions begin from AU$7,500.

This includes the creative consultation, concept development, original artwork, design refinement and preparation of production-ready artwork. As every commission is unique, production costs for artwork, wallpaper, fabrics, sampling, printing, freight and installation are quoted separately according to the scope of the project.

A 50% deposit is required before creative work begins, with the remaining balance payable prior to delivery of the completed design.

 

Optional Ways to Work Together

Option 1 Hero Artwork

• Original painting created for the space.

Option 2 Hero Fabric / Wallpaper Design

• Original design and art for fabric or wallpaper with co-ordinating design

Option 3 Artwork + Fabric / Wallpaper Design (Options 1&2 combined)

• Original painting plus custom fabric or wallpaper concept derived from the artwork.

Option 4 Art-Led Room

• Artwork + Wallpaper / Fabric + colour direction, interior design and styling for the room.
